I look at Craft Fairs in a whole new way now
JoJo and I awoke at 3:30am to depart by 4:30am. This was to be our very first day as "vendors" selling our Perfect Purse Protectors. It was still dark, cold and wet from the rain the night before when we arrived at our destination. "You want us to set up where?", we thought. We couldn't even see the space numbers on the black pavement. Everybody around us was moving along quickly setting up like Stepford Wives.
Of course we didn't bother to do a dry-run on our EZ-Up tent, because really, how hard could it be? All I can say is, "Thank you" to the wonderful vendors next to us who were so helpful in showing us "Newbies" how it's done. How in the heck do these vendors do this time and time again? This is incredibly hard work!!!
Just when we were starting to feel like we had this "vendor" thing under control, it was time to pack up. It was almost dark by the time the truck was loaded and we headed home. Wow, what a long hard day. That's not to say we didn't have an incredibly good time. My highlight was watching my husband join in on the fun of "vendorship." I loved when he recognized the different brands of handbags the women carried as they approached us. I've trained him up right!
The next time I'm a "customer" at a craft fair, I will buy whatever it is they're selling. God Bless 'em.
